6 Things That You Should Do While Your Friend Is In Peru!

17 Aug

1) Learn to speak spanish. When she gets back she will be used to speaking spanish and it will be a great shock if she is constantly forced to speak in English.  Why not make it easier on her?  Learn a new language.  **Learning Spanish with a Peruvian accent is preferred.

2) Become more physically fit.  Since she will be spending much of her trip hiking around the Andes Mountains she will be in excellent physical shape by the time she gets home.  She will also develop such an appreciation for hiking that she will want to go all the time.  If you want to keep up, you better start now!

3) Brush up on your knowledge of the Spanish Colonization of South America.

4) Wear an Alpaca fur Jacket.  Theses little beauties are very popular in Peru because they are naturally water-repellent and difficult to ignite.  Even the designer Armani has used Suri alpaca to fashion men’s and women’s suits.  All in all, they’re just really cool looking, right?

5) Eat some guinea pig.  Self Explanatory.

6) Buy a Peruvian Flag.  According to wikipedia the colors on the flag are significant… Red represents the blood that was spilled for the fight for independence, and white represents peace.

I’ll be back at the end of August…
